Whatever the case may be, if you want to buy any of these games for your collection, you had better be prepared to part with a lot. Even just the cartridges of these games can cost you a considerable amount of money. Or, on the flip side, you might be sitting on a goldmine of 3DS games and not even know it.

Alien Chaos 3D is one of the first games in Ludosity’s catalog, with the developer now more known forNickelodeon All-Star Brawl. In Alien Chaos 3D, you play as Really Shooter, taking down mobs of robot aliens when they invade.

You could spend upwards of $130 just for the cartridge of Alien Chaos 3D, likely because it had a limited physical launch due to Ludosity being an indie developer. As the 3DS eshop also shut down, these limited physical copies are the only way to obtain it legitimately.

Stella Glow’s protagonist, Alto, must find four witches to thwart Hilda, the Witch of Destruction, using their song powers to take her down. Stella Glow’s Launch Edition included a physical copy of the game,a CD featuring the Song Magic, a cloth poster, and a charm; all encased in a collectible box.

Because it was limited edition, it’s unsurprising that it costs more secondhand. Still, it’s a fairly reasonable price for a collector’s edition that’s no longer available, which is lucky for any passionate Stella Glow fans.

Scribblenauts Unlimited is a game where you’re only limited by your own creativity. By typing in nouns (and adjectives if you want to be more specific with your creation), you can create just about anything in the game, eveniconic Nintendo characters like Link and Mario, to solve puzzles.

Even though Scribblenauts Unlimited launched on multiple platforms, it was the 3DS version that received a special edition, which now costs a pretty penny - $145 if you want it complete with the branded pencil and Maxwell-themed 3DS case.

Almost every entry in theYo-kai Watchseries is expensive to come by secondhand, with Yo-Kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters being more than $100 just for the cartridge. It’s the third edition of Yo-kai Watch 2,combining Bony Spirits and Fleshy Soulsinto one.

In this title, you go back in time to when the Yo-kai Watch was first invented, meeting lots of Yo-kai on the way. Bony Spirits and Fleshy Souls are much cheaper to buy, with Psychic Specters being the more sought-after version, being similar to a definitive edition.

ForPokemonfans who like to collect both versions of each generation, thePokemon Ultra Sun & Pokemon Ultra MoonDual Pack was the ideal package. The dual pack contained individual copies of Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, with the cardboard box it came in and the 16 exclusive art cards being the main draw.

The games go for around $40 individually, so the price hike is definitely due to the special packaging used for this dual pack, which is sought after by Pokemon collectors. That’s one expensive piece of cardboard.

$225 (Red Cat Corps)

$209.46 (White Dog Squad)

Similar to the mainline Yo-kai Watch games, Red Cat Corps & White Dog Squad allow you to recruit Yo-kai and fight with them; however, these titles also had multiplayer functionality, so you could team up with others locally or online.

Each version of the game has exclusive Yo-kai only available in that title, with Red Cat Corps perhaps being the more popular of the two, as it slightly edges out White Dog Squad in price. Or, it could be because Jibanyan, the series’ mascot, features in the Red Cat Corps version.

Published by Konami, Frogger 3D launched in 2011 in time for the original arcade game’s thirtieth anniversary. Similar to the original, Frogger 3D involves controlling a frog and transporting them through dangerous environments, such as streets filled with cards and trucks.

The game sells for about $288 with the box included and still has a large asking price of $247 for just the cartridge. Despite receiving middling reviews at launch, Frogger 3D is sought after by collectors looking for rare 3DS titles.

Fire Emblem Fates initially launched with three versions, Birthright, Conquest, and Revelations, (though the latter was only downloadable content, rather than physical), but the Special Edition brought all three onto one easy-to-use cartridge. Unfortunately, the price isn’t so accessible anymore.

If you want all three Fire Emblem Fates games on one 3DS cartridge, you’ll need to fork out at least $300, and that’s just for the actual cartridge. To get your hands on the extras it originally came with, like the art book and 3DS pouch, you’ll need a lot more than that - plenty of listings for the complete set go for upwards of $600.

Level-5’s Yo-kai Watch 3is the last Yo-kai Watch game available in the West, which has contributed to its rarity and hefty price tag. In the game, you befriend the various Yo-kai and use them in battles, and can switch between the two main characters, Nate and Hailey Anne.

While the first game is reasonably priced, the second game creeps up in price, with the third title being the most expensive. If you want to play the full series, it would cost you a pretty penny.

Guide Louvre allows you to explore the Louvre using your 3DS. It was originally designed to be used alongside visiting the museum to enhance your experience, as it includes floor maps and an audio guide.

Physical copies were available at the Louvre gift shop for a limited time, which explains its scarcity and increased price now. Even without the box, you’re looking at nearly $500. It would probably be less expensive to go to the Lourve yourself, though there’s still a lot of charm to be able to experience it on the 3DS.
