Gordon Ramsey might be one of the most legendary and infamous chefs in the world, but I think there are a couple of game characters who could give him a run for his money. Being a fully trained chef isn’t always a requirement either, as some characters show more than enough moxy without training.

We’d actually argue that some characters are better salt sprinklers when they are capable of coming up with completely original recipes that never existed before. So while Ramsey may be out there dealing with the worst of the worst or the most hopeful chefs, he needs to put his best dishes against some of these characters.

Ignis Scientia from Final Fantasy 15

1Ignis - Final Fantasy 15

Look, our boy Ignis is out here claiming that he invented the recipe for toast; we think he’s got enough confidence to take on Gordon Ramsey. If you’ve seen Ignis’s stacked ham sandwich or any of his other recipes, you’ll know that the main can cook up a storm with nothing more than a roaring firepit right up untilthe end of the game.

Gordon Ramsey needs an entire top-of-the-line kitchen with the best staff in the world in order to be the king of cooking.Final Fantasy 15’sIgnis just needs his three best bros, a couple of ingredients, and the wholehearted belief that he came up with the recipe for fish sticks.

Aunt May Marvel’s Spider-Man

2Aunt May - Marvel’s Spider-Man

I really don’t have any reason to think thatMarvel’s Spider-Man’sAunt May would be a great cook outside of the fact that she seems like a really nice lady. I mean, why would Peter be so sad to lose her if she wasn’t an incredible cook? There couldn’t possibly be any other reason to be sad– he said, oozing with sarcasm.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned to always be true, it’s that the nicest old ladies are always expert chefs. Aunt May would probably cook circles around Gordon Ramsey all before Peter finished taking out the Sinister Six.

Chef Kawasaki hanging out on a beach with Kirby

He may have lost his memory at one point, butLinkcertainlydidn’t lose his cooking ability. He doesn’t need any champions to help him cook a fantastic salt-grilled crab, which we don’t know would be the case for Gordon Ramsey.

Ramsey might be capable of making something as interesting as a pumpkin stew, but can he make a tough pumpkin stew? Link is literally so gifted in cooking that he can have his food confer additional benefits – that sounds like the kind of cooking that can defeat even Gordon Ramsey.

Goku and Gohan eat a meal

4Chef Kawasaki - Kirby Super Star

This may be a bold claim because Chef Kawasaki doesn’t even seem to have any fingers, but I think he could beat Gordon Ramsey. With that kind of smile, it’s clear that he has the kind of positive attitude necessary to become a master of the culinary arts.

I don’t even remember the last time I saw Chef Kawasaki far from a frying pan, and if that isn’t commitment, I don’t know what is. Anyone capable of grabbing a pan without the use of fingers has my respect in the kitchen.

5Joker - Persona 5

Whether it’sPersona 5orPersona 5 Strikers, Joker is capable of creating some incredible dishes. Like many great chefs before him, Joker started small with some simple coffee, but he soon branched out to become a curry master.

Later on, Joker created his own kitchen to really flex his cooking skills with sushi and hot pot. When you take in how young Joker is and how his food can restore the spirit powers of those who eat it, it’s clear that he’d make Ramsey look like an idiot sandwich.

Gordon Ramsey may be used to working with exotic ingredients from around the world, but I reckonthe endlessly quotable Arthur MorganfromRed Dead Redemption 2would give him a run for his money when it comes to big-game cooking.

Minty venison may not sound like a great meal for most people, but Arthur Morgan probably managed to make it work. It’s the kind of meal a cowboy could scowl out until the food decided to taste good, and we all know Morgan’s got the perfect cowboy scowl.

7Cooking Mama - The Titular Chef

It probably goes without saying thatCooking Mamacould deal with Gordon Ramsey in a cooking battle. I mean, it’s in her name, she is a mother, and she’s perfectly capable of cooking – who could ask for a better pairing?

If Cooking Mama is capable of guiding someone as uncoordinated and as lacking in taste as me to make some tasty dishes, it’s probably safe to say she’s good. Gordon Ramsey has entire shows where he tries to help skilled chefs be better, and sometimes, he can’t even help those people.

8Sora - Kingdom Hearts 3

After all the hair-pulling that Remy puts Sora through inKingdom Hearts 3, it’s probably fair to say he’s become a skilled chef in his own right. Thanks to Remy, Sora has learned to make some tough dishes, including ratatouille and eel matelote, putting him right up there with Ramsey.

The thing with Sora is that he has the power of friendship on his side, something that gives him a clear edge over Ramsey every time. Imagine how much more powerful Gordon Ramsey would be if he was cooking with Donald, Goofy, andall those other Disney characters.

9Chi-Chi - Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot

Gordon Ramsey is used to cooking elaborate meals for entire restaurants full of people, but he’s never had to cook for someone likeDragon Ball’sGoku. This means that while cooking requires taking your time, Chi-Chi’s ability to cook huge volumes of food to perfection makes her stronger than Gordon Ramsey.

Chi-Chi’s full-course meals are the kind of thing that Gordon Ramsey wishes he could cook. It’s kind of shocking that Chi-Chi is always so worried about money when she’s capable of having one of the hottest restaurants around – we’re just saiyan.

10Byleth - Fire Emblem: Three Houses

Not only is Byleth capable of absolutely becoming best friends with everyone and everyone in their army, but they’re also incredible chefs capable of cooking with anyone. Gordon Ramsey may have made some jelly in his time, but he’s probably never made blessed jelly.

We’re not saying we could do anything of the sort, but if Byleth possesses all kinds of magic, we have a feeling that magic has to be helpful in the kitchen. Maybe if magic was real, Gordon Ramsey wouldn’t have to deal with so many nightmarish kitchens.
