Palworldhas absolutely exploded in popularity over the weekend, amassing millions of players and generating all kinds of controversies regarding its Pal designs. Having sensed very clear and obvious inspirations in Palworld’s Pals,Pokemonfans took to social media andaccused developer Pocketpair of everything from laziness to outright plagiarism, scooping up dozens of examples of Pals extremely similar to existing Pokemon. It was enough for some Pokemon fans to claim Nintendo itself could get involved with how blatant some of them are, but Pocketpair CEO and Palworld lead developer Takuro Mizobe isn’t particularly concerned about potential legal threats....

But the jury is still out on whether PocketPair’s survival game can keep players coming back with future updates as itfights accusations of plagiarism. The game isn’t original. There’s a reason we described it with the easy shorthand ‘Pokemon With Guns’. It’s straight to the point and instantly compelling, and by the time many had picked up a copy and realised you’d be farming for dozens of hours before even using a gun, Palworld’s success was already guaranteed....

Super Mario RPGhas, for whatever reason, removed a reference to Bruce Lee that Mallow used to make in the Forest Maze before taking on Bowyer. For the most part, Super Mario RPG’s remake is surprisingly faithful to the originalSuper Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, keeping in a ton of easter eggs and references that debuted in the game nearly three decades ago. There are a few examples of things being changed around,like Mario no longer making a peace sign at the end of the battle, but they’re generally pretty minimal or have some reasoning behind them....

Summary Escape From Tarkov: Arena is the standalone competitive shooter from Battlestate Games, the creators of EFT. There are 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5 game modes with a ton of exciting PVP action. The Tarkov DNA is still dominant here, but this is a new game with a lot of influence from other titles. There are classes and presets. Each will heavily impact your experience and change the way you play Arena....
